Volunteer
Good Samaritan would not be able to offer excellent care on a sliding fee scale to its patients were it not for its volunteers. Volunteers serve regularly as healthcare professionals and support staff, business and front office assistants, interpreters and other positions. Good Samaritan estimates its volunteer hours to be worth more than $400,000 annually. In 2008: 152 Volunteers served at GSHC, 7,521 Volunteer hours were logged and Volunteer services valued at $219,842. Educational opportunities are available on a case by case basis for students. Group volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year.
Volunteer Orientations for 2010 will take place every other month during normal business hours. The volunteer orientation lasts approximately 60-90 minutes. Orientations will be held May 17th-21st, July 12th-16th, September 6th-10th, and November 15th-19th. Volunteers should submit their volunteer applications prior to attending orientation.
